The full time degree courses are affiliated to the PunjabTechnicalUniversity, Jalandhar, India.

The distance education program is associated with GuruNanakDevUniversity, Amritsar are offered by Synergy Institute Management Technology and Arts.

Both the universities are approved by University Grant Commission and Ministry of HRD, Government of India.

 

4. Are these courses approved by Government?

All courses under any central or state government and UGC approved university are approved by the government of India.

 

5. What are the prerequisites for Undergraduate courses?

10+2 in any stream with pass marks

 

6. What is the fee’s structure?

The fee differs from program to program and are different for Indian and foreign students. Please go through relevant sections of the link  http://www.sbs.ac.in/programs/ to know the details of the offered fee. The fee is subject to change and therefore please email or call the SBS Admission office to know the latest fee with break-up of the admission fee, tuition fee, university fee, bus fee, etc.

 

7. What is the security amount? Is that refundable?

We do not take any security from the students.

 

8. I have done my senior secondary privately, am I eligible for these courses?

Yes, a student who has done senior secondary privately is eligible for the course.

 

9. I have gap of few years in my studies, am I eligible for these courses?

Yes you are eligible for these courses.

 

10. I have compartment in +2, can I get admission?

Yes, only provisional, you have to clear your compartment before the last date of admission which is usually October of every year. Therefore you will have to sit in your compartment exams either in July or September.

 

11. I have done +2 in commerce, can I appear in CA or CS after B.B.A?

Yes, although now graduation is not a prerequisite to these professional course. You can even appear in them after clearing CPT directly after +2.

 

12. Is bus facility available from the college?

No, you can submit photocopies of your transcripts, the college will require original transcripts at the time of scrutiny of admission forms by the University, in October each year.

 

13. Do I have to submit the original transcripts at the time of admission?

Yes, it is, charges are given in the college prospectus.

 

14. My Detailed Marks Card (DMC) or transcript of 10+2 are not available now, can I still take admission?

Yes, you will have to give an affidavit in lieu or copy of the gazette. Transcripts can be submitted before October, before scrutiny of examination form.

 

15. I am weak in English, how can I cope with these courses?

Yes, the institute provides with special classes in functional English and the medium of instruction is both Hindi and English. Moreover for students who are weak in spoken and written English, SBS offers special English language classes.

 

16. What is the scope of BCA and BBA?

BBA, B.Com (Prof.) and BCA are much in demand due to vast and ever growing opportunities in private sector. You can upgrade them with PGDCA, M.Sc (IT), MBA or MCA.
A BCA graduate directly gets admission in MCA third semester or M.Sc (IT) second year under distance education mode thus saving one year. There is a huge demand of computer teachers in both Government and Private sector.

 

17. What are the placement records for Dual Degree MBA?

100% in various reputed company’s like Abhishek Industries, Coca cola, Ludhiana Today, Jaypee Cement, Bonn, Axis Bank, Birla Sun Life, Monte Carlo, Johnson & Johnson and various.

19. What are the legal formalities a student has to complete on arrival?

A.      FIRST TIME REGISTRATION WITHIN 15 DAYS OF ARRIVAL IN INDIA FOR RESIDENTIAL PERMIT

2)      VISA AND PASSPORT COPY

3)       RESIDENTIAL PERMIT FORM FULLY FILLED AND DULY SIGNED BY THE FOREIGN STUDENT

4)       FEE:RS 100/STUDENT

5)       FOUR PASSPORT SIZE PHOTOGRAPHS

IF  STUDENT DOES NOT GET REGISTERED WITHIN 15 DAYS AT FRRO OFFICE, THEN STUDENT HAS TO PAY A FINE OF US$30 OR RS. 1680/=

20. When are the classes going to start?

31st July 2013 but we encourage students to pay fees as soon as they get admission in order not to miss the admission and secure his/her seat.

 

22.How international students can obtain study visa for studying in Synetic Business School?

Students will be issued as invitation letter / letter of consent by Synetic Business School, once they fill the admission form and submit to the school. They will take this invitation letter along with copy of admission form to the Indian High Commission in their respective countries. The High Commission changes nominal fee for granting provision student visa. The name of the Institute and course must be endorsed on visa. On their arrival in India the institute provides all assistance in obtaining residential permit and extension of visa. For other formalities students may visit the website of High Commission of India in their country.

1. What are the recreational and sports facilities available within the campus?

The college has track and field, cricket pitch, volleyball court, indoor sports room with facilities such as table tennis, carom, chess, etc. and is developing football and basket ball grounds.

The college has a dedicated internet facility with fully equipped computer lab and wifi for the students to access internet from their personal devices such as mobile smart phones, tablet PC and laptops

 

2. What type of foodis available in the college canteen?

College canteen provided both hot and cold beverages with ready made and freshly prepared snacks like sandwiches, burgers and patties.

 

3. Apart from fee and other expenses what are expenses on books and stationery? What support is provided by the Library?

Student is expected to buy important books and all stationery material required which are readily available at local book shops. SBS can also help students in procuring these books.

The library has all relevant reference books, course books and magazines with reading space and PC with internet to access online sources.

 

4. Do I need to buy a personal computer while studying in BCA?

No, the institute has a full fledge air conditioned computer lab with latest desktop computers with TFT screen and internet facility. Those students who want to bring their personal laptops or tablet PCs can do so.

 

5. What is the climatic condition in Ludhiana?

Ludhiana lies in the sub tropical region and has moderate climate during February to April and from October to Mid December. May and June are hot and from July till September we have monsoons and hence hot and humid climate.

 

6. How can student reach SBS after arrival at New Delhi Airport? What is the cost? How far is Ludhiana from New Delhi?

Students coming in groups are received by the the college authorities at the New Delhi airport itself. There are direct buses from New Delhi International Airport to Ludhiana operated by following Tours and Travels;

The buses from airport usually charges Rs. 1200 per person. Ludhiana is 300 kms from New Delhi and lies on National Highway 1. Students arriving must get in touch with the college authorities and they in turn contact the tour operators to receive the students from the airport. Once in Ludhiana the college staff pics them up from the bus station and brings them to hostel.

 

7. What are medical facilities available in Ludhiana city?

Ludhiana has two state of the art medical institutions, Christian Medical College and Hospital and Dayanand Medical College and Hospital. International students are encouraged to get medical insurance policy which is available for USD 35. SBS has special tie up with CMC hospital where students can get best services 24 hours a day.

 

8. How is SBS different from others?

No, there is no specific dress code but on certain occasions students are requested to come in formals such as during seminars and guests lectures.

 

10. What are the college timings?

The classes commence at 9:30 am and finish at 3:40 pm from Monday to Friday and Saturdays are half days, second Saturday is off.

 
HOSTEL – Boarding and Lodging

 

1. What type of food is available in Hostel?

Hostel mess serves Indian vegetarian food comprising native dishes only. Three meals are served, breakfast, packed lunch and dinner.  Besides tea is served twice, in the morning and in the evening.

 

2. Is the hostel in college premises?

No, it is in the heart of the city, 20kms from the college campus. The location of the hostel facilitates easy access to Malls, Multiplexes, local markets, medical care facilities, gyms and other recreational facilities.

 

3. Is hostel owned by college or managed by private body?

Hostel is owned by private body. SBS has signed a special MOU with the hostel authorities to provide all the daily comforts to the students.

 

4.If the hostel is outside the college premises who bears the to and fro cost?

College provided bus facility and student has to bear the cost of the to and fro expenses.
