Life at SBS

The Office of Residence Life is committed to fostering a clean, safe environment for the personal, social and intellectual development of every student., We seek to empower and challenge students to become individuals, citizens, and leaders who understand their responsibility in creating effective and socially just communities at SBS and beyond.

College Designated Hostel

The SBS campus offers more than 50 student college designated hostel residences that embrace a wide range of social styles.

Student Support

An important aspect of residence life is the support provided by peer counselors and area coordinators. Peer Counselors (PCs) are students who live in the residential units and serve as leaders and resources for their residents. PCs are trained each year in topics such as student development and transitions, listening and referral skills, recognizing students in distress, and community building.

The Office of Student Activities

The office of Student Activities supports the academic mission of the institution by contributing to the social, cultural, and intellectual life of the College.  We do so by providing Leadership Development opportunities and encouraging co-curricular involvement among students.  We serve as a resource for the entire SBS Community by: organizing large scale events, overseeing the planning and registration process for student-run events, advising Student Government and Student Clubs, managing most non-academic spaces on campus, overseeing the campus-wide shuttle and other transportation needs, and collaborating with other offices, departments, and community members to enhance campus life at SBS.  Our office also advocates for students by addressing their interests and requests in regards to student life.
