Why Computer Graphics Matters
Computer graphics is the study of creating and manipulating images with a computer, from drawing lines and shapes to transformations, 3D modelling and rendering. It underlies games, animation, user interfaces and design software, and gives programming practice in mathematics and algorithms. Detailed unit-wise notes are being added.
How to Prepare for Computer Graphics
- Revise the matrix material from first-semester Mathematics, since transformations rely on it.
- Practise line-drawing and transformation problems numerically.
- Try a small graphics program in C, Python or JavaScript canvas to see the ideas working.
Computer Graphics: Frequently Asked Questions
What is computer graphics?
Computer graphics is the creation, storage and manipulation of images and drawings using a computer.
Which mathematics is needed for computer graphics?
