Unit 1: Bone marrow and body fluid technique
Bone marrow smear preparation and staining (Leishman's, May-Grunwald-Giemsa, Perl's), trephine biopsy sectioning and staining (H&E, reticulin, PAS), morphological identification of immature erythroid/myeloid/WBC series, red cell abnormality study (size, shape, staining, inclusions), coagulation mixing studies for prolonged PT/APTT/thrombin time, physical/chemical/microscopic examination of urine, cytological examination of CSF and other body fluids, physical/microscopic examination of seminal fluid including sperm count, demonstration of blood cell counter and coagulometer function
