Bacterial culture technique and media isolation; Gram, Albert, Z-N and capsule staining; biochemical tests with positive and negative controls — catalase, coagulase, indole, MR, VP, urease, citrate, oxidase, TSI, nitrate reduction, carbohydrate fermentation, Hugh and Leifson, bile solubility, H2S production; collection and transport of clinical samples; characterization of commonly isolated pathogens (Staphylococcus, E. coli, Klebsiella, Proteus, M. tuberculosis, Pseudomonas)
