Advance Drawing
Subject Overview
Advance Drawing builds on Basic Drawing to develop each student's own visual language as a designer, directly connecting drawing skill to surface design where a fabric pattern is a translation of a designer's own rendering on paper. You'll study and copy works by great masters like Rembrandt, Van Gogh and Picasso, take field trips to draw monuments and places of visual interest, then move into model drawing of the human body and still life, and close with perspective drawing and quick sketching. This is a 2-credit core practical paper across 3 units, assessed on a target of 500 sketches over the semester.
