Subject Overview

Advanced Rendering and Presentation builds on Introduction to Rendering with more technical presentation skills — waterproof ink rendering, orthographic projection, and detailed interior perspectives. You'll practise presentation skills and rendering fabrics with microtip pens, then elevation and section views of rooms using orthographic projection, and close with perspective views of interiors and floor covering renders (rugs, carpets, durries). This is a 2-credit core practical paper across 3 units.

Unit 1: Presentation skills & fabric rendering

Presentation skills, rendering with waterproof inks, drawing fabrics with a microtip pen, rendering different weaves and fabrics

Unit 2: Elevation & material rendering

Elevation and section elevation views of rooms, orthographic projection, rendering materials like bags, rugs and bedcovers

Unit 3: Interior perspectives & floor coverings

Perspective views of bedroom/living room/drawing room/children's room in different mediums, rendering floor coverings — rugs, carpets, durries
