Subject Overview
Yarn Craft exposes students to hand-craft techniques that turn yarn into structure and surface — building appreciation for hand craftsmanship alongside design and product development skills. You'll learn macrame, knotting, braiding, twining and tasselling, then basic knitting, crocheting, tatting and quilling, and close with carpet-making, tufting, and hook and ribbon weaving. This is a 2-credit core practical paper across 3 units, with students exploring and adapting these techniques into innovative surfaces using a wide range of materials.
