Subject Overview
Web Technologies takes students from internet fundamentals through a complete static and lightly interactive website — HTML tags, text formatting, lists, graphics and tables, hyperlinks and frames, DHTML/CSS, and JavaScript for capturing user input via forms and built-in/user-defined objects. A 4-credit core theory paper.

Unit 1: Internet basics and introductory HTML
Internet connectivity and IP addressing, TCP/IP overview, HTML tags (paired and singular), document head/body, title/footer, text formatting, heading styles, text styles and color coding
Unit 2: Lists, graphics, tables, links and frames
Unordered/ordered/definition lists, graphics attributes (border, width/height, align, alt), tables (header, caption, cell padding/spacing, colspan/rowspan), internal/external hyperlinks and image hyperlinks, frames and framesets, Cascading Style Sheets
Unit 3: JavaScript fundamentals
JavaScript in web pages, advantages of JavaScript, embedding JavaScript in HTML, writing JavaScript
Unit 4: Forms and JavaScript objects
The form object and its element methods (text, password, button, submit, reset, checkbox, radio, textarea, select and multi-choice lists), built-in objects (String, Math, Date), user-defined objects and instances
